Who are we?
We’re not your typical family office.
El Trueno was born in 1975* as a single family office in Costa Rica with an unconventional vision: investing in what we want to exist. Since then, we’ve been betting on innovation, impact, and growth, guided by the principle that people come first. We represent a family that firmly believes in this value, which has guided Grupo Purdy for over 60 years.
Our reason for being
We have a clear vision: to leave our mark with our legacy, investing in what really matters.
We believe in innovation as an accelerator of development. In addition to our investment strategy, we have a strong commitment to the country:
8% of our income is donated to our Foundation, which works to empower young people and train future leaders.
Capital to Caricaco Ventures, an investor that drives Central American startups and puts the region on the venture capital map.
